Good Wednesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Tuesday, 12/26/17.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Civil Issue. A deputy wad dispatched to contact a complainant regarding a child custody issue. Civil remedies were advised, and the individual was directed to his attorney and the appropriate court.

-Hwy 114 at Barton Ln, Opdyke West: Grass Fire. A deputy responded to the area regarding a small grass fire along the highway. The fire department arrived and extinguished the fire. Deputies assisted as needed for traffic control.

-FM 1585 at Flowline Rd, Sundown: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to reported loose cattle in the area. The cattle were located and secured. The owner was notified.

-800 blk School, Sundown: Assist Sundown PD. Deputies responded to assist Sundown PD with a mental health related call. One individual was transported by Sundown PD for evaluation.

-FM 1585 at FM 3261, Levelland: Reckless Driver. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a driver that ran a stop sign at the intersection. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located. A deputy spoke with the complainant by phone to collect information while headed to the area.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 12/27/17 at 0800 hours: 47 in Hockley County, 1 to be processed, 6 out of county.
