Good Thursday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Wednesday, 12/27/17.

-1800 blk FM 1490, Levelland: Disturbance. A deputy responded to a reported disturbance in the area. On scene, it was determined the disturbance was verbal only and occurred the previous day. The complainant wanted the information logged. No offense was reported.

-2300 blk E. Ellis, Levelland: Animal Complaint. A deputy met with a complainant regarding loose dogs in the area getting to her chickens. Deputies will monitor the area to attempt to locate the dogs and identify the owners.

-FM 300 at Samson Post, Sundown: Fire. A deputy was dispatched to check the area for a fire. Fire Department was advised also.

-2300 blk Iowa Rd, Levelland: Fire. A deputy was dispatched to the area to attempt to locate a fire. A resident was located burning trash on his property, was being monitored, and under control. The homeowner was asked to notify the Sheriff’s Office for controlled burns in the future. No offenses were reported.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 12/28/17 at 0800 hours: 46 in Hockley County, 1 in holding, 6 out of county.
