The NWS has issued a WIND CHILL ADVISORY from 6 PM Saturday 12/30/17 TO NOON 1/2/18 for the City of St. Louis
WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM SATURDAY TO NOON CST TUESDAY...
* WHAT...Very cold wind chills expected. The cold wind chills will
cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin.
Expect wind chills to range from 0 to -24 degrees.
* WHERE...Portions of east central Missouri and south central
and southwest Illinois.
* WHEN...From 6 PM Saturday to noon CST Tuesday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The cold wind chills expected Saturday
evening through Tuesday will cause frostbite in as little as 30
minutes to exposed skin.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds
will combine to generate low wind chill values. This will result
in frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not
taken. If you must venture outdoors, make sure you wear a hat and
gloves, making sure all exposed skin is covered.
