WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY & WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM CST SATURDAY...
...WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM SATURDAY TO 1 PM CST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Freezing drizzle occurring. Very cold wind chills expected. The ice will result in very slippery conditions on sidewalks, roads and bridges, including during the evening commute. Ice accumulations of a light glaze are expected. Expect wind chills to range from 5 below zero to 24 below zero.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, northeast and west central Missouri.

* WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 1 AM CST Saturday. For the Wind Chill Advisory, from 6 PM Saturday to 1 PM CST Tuesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The cold wind chills will cause frostbite and hypothermia symptoms in as little as 30 minutes. Staying indoors is recommended, but if going outside, make sure you have the appropriate clothing and an emergency kit with blankets in your vehicle.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will combine to create low wind chills. Frostbite and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and gloves.
