Update: Winter Weather Advisory issued December 30 at 9:42AM EST expiring January 1 at 12:00AM EST by NWS Northern Indiana
Areas Affected: Cass; St. Joseph; La Porte
* WHAT...Lake effect snow expected. Plan on slippery road
conditions. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 7 inches are
expected with locally higher amounts possible.
* WHERE...In Indiana, La Porte and St. Joseph IN Counties. In
Michigan, Cass MI County. The heaviest snow accumulations are
expected across northern La Porte, northern St. Joseph IN, and
western Cass MI counties.
* WHEN...From 8 PM EST /7 PM CST/ this evening to midnight EST
/11 PM CST/ Sunday night.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Be prepared for reduced visibilities at
times. Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are possible
with heavier lake effect snow bands.
A Winter Weather Advisory for lake effect snow means lake effect
snow is forecast that will make travel difficult in some areas.
Use caution when traveling. The latest road conditions for the
state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
