Celebrate New Year's Eve Responsibly: No Gunfire & Designate a Driver
The Burbank Police Department would like to wish everyone a safe and Happy New Year. Wherever you celebrate New Year's Eve tonight, please remember to do so responsibly.
NEVER fire a gun into the air. Celebratory gunfire is a felony offense and very dangerous. A stray bullet from a gun can kill someone. If you see someone shooting a gun into the air, call the police immediately.
Additionally, we would like to remind the public to always designate a sober driver. Alcohol and drug-related traffic collisions are a leading cause of death and injury, especially during holiday periods. Please plan your sober ride home before the celebration begins.
Finally, remember that the possession or use of any fireworks is illegal in the City of Burbank. Anyone caught with, or displaying fireworks will have them confiscated and be subject to arrest or citation.
Happy New Year!
