Winter Weather Advisory issued January 2 at 3:43AM EST expiring January 4 at 7:00PM EST by NWS Northern Indiana
Areas Affected: Cass; Berrien
* WHAT... Very cold wind chills expected. Lake effect snow
expected. Expect wind chills to range from 5 below zero to 20
below zero. Plan on difficult travel conditions, including
during the morning and evening commute on Wednesday and
Thursday. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches, with
localized amounts up to 10 inches, are expected by Thursday
evening.
* WHERE...Berrien and Cass MI Counties.
* WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, from 7 AM Wednesday to
7 PM EST Thursday. For the Wind Chill Advisory, until 1 PM EST
this afternoon.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The cold wind chills will cause frostbite
in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin. Be prepared for
reduced visibilities at times. Be prepared for rapidly
changing conditions and reduced visibilities at times Wednesday
into Thursday.
A Winter Weather Advisory for lake effect snow means lake effect
snow is forecast that will make travel difficult in some areas.
Use caution when traveling. The latest road conditions for the
state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will
combine to create low wind chills. Frost bite and hypothermia can
occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.
