November 27th

Auto Burglary - (McDonald’s) 11821 San Pablo Ave:
At 0657 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. At 0630 hours, (S) broke the window and stole several suitcases of property from a rental van. A review of the video showed (S) is a male, dark complexion, medium build, 5’10” medium build, black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black boots driving an older gray Nissan.

Commercial Burglary – 10600 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 0856 hours, an officer responded to the report of a commercial burglary. In between 2000 hours and 0700 hours (S) Unknown chopped a hole in the roof of 10636 San Pablo Ave. and then lowered a rope tied with foot loops tied in it. Once inside they tried to force the ignition of a fork lift, presumably to breach the wall of the adjacent One Stop Laundromat. Failing that, (S) hacked a small hole in the wall with a crow bar and made entry. (S) stole coins and fled.

Trespassing - 512 EC Plaza:
At 1013 hours, an officer responded to the report of a burglary. In between 11/21/17 and 1600 hours and 11/22/17 and 1000 hours an unidentified suspect forced entry into an apartment under construction. There was no loss and it appeared as if the suspect was seeking shelter.

Vandalism – 10300 block San Pablo Ave:
At 1301 hours, an officer responded to the report of a former employee harassing another employee. The victim’s vehicle was vandalized on 11/22/2017. The 39-year-old male suspect was recently fired during an argument with the victim and owner.

Grand Theft, Elder Abuse – 300 block of Ramona Ave:
The elderly victim fell for a common scam where the suspect convinced the victim he/she won a sweepstakes. The victim wired over $3000 the suspect to an address in Pennsylvania via Western Union.

Domestic Violence Restraining Order Violation – 1300 block of Liberty St:
At 1612 hours, an officer responded to the report of a Domestic Violence restraining order violation. The 28-year-old male went to the residence of his estranged wife and banged on the door. He was contacted while still at the front door in violation of the order. He was arrested, booked, and transported to the MDF.

Public Intoxication – (Walgreens) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1734 hours, an officer responded to a suspicious person and arrested a 47-year-old man from Oakland for public intoxication. He was booked at the ECPD and then transported to MDF.

Trespassing, Possess Drug Paraphernalia, Probation Violation – 1600 of block Lexington Ave:
At 2000 hours, Officers responded to a burglary in progress. The caller reported the suspect broke into their back shed and was confronted by the homeowner. Officers arrived on scene and detained a 33-year-old male transient. The suspect was found to be in possession of a glass meth pipe and claimed he entered the shed to charge his phone. He was arrested and transported to the ECPD. A large pair of bolt cutters was located in his duffle bag and he was found to be on probation. He was booked at the ECPD and then transported to MDF.

November 28th

Auto Burglary - 3070 EC Plaza:
At 0633 hours, officer was flagged down regarding an auto burglary that had just occurred. In between 0626 and 0630 hours, an unidentified suspect smashed the window of a vehicle and stolen a brown purse and MacBook Pro.

Auto Burglary - 9895 San Pablo Ave:
At 0648 hours, officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. In between 0630 – 0640 hours, an unknown suspect broke the window of a vehicle and stole a PINK bag. Video revealed that (S) was a BMA, bald and dark clothing and got into a gray SUV.

Shoplifting – (Ace Hardware) 10057 San Pablo Ave:
At 1144 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft that had just occurred. (S) described as a transient white male, approx. 40 years old, 6’01” greasy long brown hair, wearing a black BB cap, all black clothing and a blue and black backpack stole several boxes of box cutters. He fled towards Nations on San Pablo Ave.

Stolen Vehicle - Fairmount St / Kearney St:
At 1137 hours, an officer responded to the report of a stolen vehicle. In between 0100 hours and 0900 hours, an unidentified suspect stole the victims white 2018 Toyota RAV4. The vehicle has a distinct black hood with a Raider’s emblem.

Residential Burglary – 10900 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 1431 hours, an officer responded to the report of a residential burglary. Sometime over the last month, an unidentified suspect kicked open the front door and stole a vacuum from the mostly empty apartment.

Shoplifting – (Walgreen’s) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1453 hours, Officer Major responded to the report of a shoplifting that had just occurred. (S1) a BMJ -16 years old, red / black jacket, back pack and (S2) a BMJ 16 years old, black clothing, black pack back stole smoking cessation products and fled east.

Shoplifting – (Walgreen’s) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
When the officer arrived on scene for the above report, the staff advised of another theft that just occurred. A black male, approximately 40-years-old, wearing a black jacket, black and blue back pack stole body wash products and fled on foot.

Shoplifting – (Ross) 2000 EC Plaza:
At 1658 hours, an officer responded to the report of a grab and run of jackets. A BMA, dirty green & tan jacket dark pants, and a white female, 5’04”, medium build, 20-30 years old, wearing light colored clothing grabbed an armful of jackets and fled on foot out the door.

Warrant (x3) – San Pablo Ave / Cutting Blvd:
At 2218 hours, an Officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 36-year-old female from Richmond on three warrants. One was a Contra Costa warrant stemming from an ECPD case and two were from Berkeley Police. She was booked at the ECPD and then transported to MDF.

Warrant – Stockton Ave / BART Path:
At 2341 hours, Officers responded to a suspicious person and contacted a 33-year-old man from Richmond. He was wanted on a Contra Costa warrant, arrested, booked at the ECPD, and then transported to MDF.

November 29th

DUI / Collision: Cutting Blvd / Elm Street:
At 1425 hours, an officer was flagged down regarding a traffic collision. A 47-year-old Kensington woman’s vehicle rear ended another vehicle. It was determined she was under the influence of marijuana and alcohol. She was booked and released to a friend.

Domestic Violence Restraining Order Violation – 7100 block B Street:
At 0253 hours, Officers responded to 911 disconnect. The victim’s ex-boyfriend and father of her children, a 29-year-old male from Oakland, broke into the victim’s house via a back sliding door, setting off the alarm. The victim confronted the suspect and told him to leave and that she called police. The suspect fled out the back before officers arrived and was not located. The suspect is the subject of a protective order and a stay away order protecting the victim.

November 30th

Shoplifting – (Lucky) 1000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 0749 hours, an officer was flagged down by the manager at Lucky’s regarding a previous shoplifting suspect. The 56-year-old male suspect was contacted in the parking lot. He was instantly confrontational, yelling and refusing to follow directives. He was placed under Citizen’s arrest. Additionally, the suspect was not abiding by the terms of his felony probation. He was booked and transported to the MDF.

Robbery – 11780 San Pablo Ave:
At 1800 hours, the victim, an optometry frames salesperson, finished an appointment at the optometry office and walked to his vehicle with two large suitcases containing designer prescription eyeglass frames. The victim was distracted while placing the suitcases into the trunk of his vehicle by S-1 who was seated in the left rear passenger seat of the vehicle parked next to him. S-1 opened the car door and struck the victim’s vehicle. The victim inspected the damage and then sat in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, forgetting to close the trunk. S-1 went to the victim’s trunk and removed one suitcase and tried to take the second suitcase from the trunk. The victim noticed his trunk was open, got out of his vehicle, and then realized what was happening. The front seat passenger (S-2) yelled for S-1 to get the other suitcase while the driver (S-3) told the victim, “don’t get shot, don’t get shot.” Fearing for his safety, the victim retreated and the suspects fled northbound on San Pablo Ave in a dark colored, 90s model, Toyota Camry. The suspects were described as follows:

S-1: Black male, 20-30 years old, 6-00, 220, black or grey beanie, black hoodie, dark sweats

S-2: White female, 20-30 years old, heavy set, long light brown hair pulled back into a pony tail, pink sweatshirt

S-3: Black male, 30-40 years old, no further description

The suitcase contained 60 to 80 prescription eyeglass frames valued at $300 to $400 per frame. The victim valued the loss at $26,000 - $32,000.

Vandalism, Poss. of Burglary Tool, Drunk in Public, Misappropriation of Property – 400 Block of Liberty Street:
At 0052 hours, officers responded to the 400 block of Liberty Street in regards to a possible auto burglary. The victim described seeing two subjects walking away from his vehicle after hearing his car alarm. He stated one of the males was holding a cell phone. Officers located a group on San Pablo Avenue and Fresno Street. An officer contacted the victim and determined a window was broken on the victim’s vehicle but no ransack was conducted. An in-field show up was conducted where a 19-year-old male from San Pablo was identified as the suspect the victim saw walking away from his vehicle. An officer searched the area where the group was contacted and located a window punch near a tree near where the group was seated. The 19-year-old male was also intoxicated. The male was booked and transported to county jail. The two other males were identified and released at the scene.

December 1st

Auto burglary – 280 El Cerrito Plaza
Between 1600 and 1620 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the passenger window of the victim’s vehicle and stole a backpack.

December 2nd

Residential burglary – 2500 block of Carquinez Ave:
Between 0100 and 0500 hours, an unknown suspect entered this house for sale and stole staged home furnishings. The suspect gained entry to the residence with the key from the realtor lockbox.

Public intoxication, Battery, Resisting arrest – Central Ave / San Pablo Ave:
At 1515 hours, officers were dispatched to the area after a 34-year-old transient man attempted to grab and hug a passerby. An officer contacted the man and found that he was extremely intoxicated and unable to care for himself. The officer placed the man under arrest and began searching him. The man refused to submit to a search and physically resisted the officer. The man was taken to the ground and subdued. Officers also learned that prior to their arrival, the man had struck a passerby in the face with his fist. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Recovered stolen vehicle – 300 block of Pomona Ave:
A community service officer located a 1989 Nissan pickup truck that had been reported stolen to Albany PD on 11/21/17.

Residential Burglary – 7300 block of Pebble Beach Drive:
At 1700 hours, Officers responded to the report of a residential burglary. The crime had occurred within the past few days and the loss was unknown at the time of the report.

Warrant – (Marshalls) 10794 San Pablo Avenue:
An officer contacted 3 suspicious individuals who the business believed were preparing to steal from the store. During the contact, the officer determined that a 21-year-old Richmond woman had a warrant for her arrest. The woman was arrested and later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Grand Theft – (Starbucks) 3090 EC Plaza:
An officer reports that a laptop computer was stolen from the victim while inside the listed business. The suspect is described as a BMJ, 17-years-old, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt. After the theft the suspect ran off towards the BART path.

Shop lifting – (Marshalls) 10794 San Pablo Avenue:
An officer reports that an unknown race male took $250 of merchandise from the store without paying.

DUI, Collision – Barrett Avenue / Brooks Avenue:
At 0333 hours, Officers responded to a report of a vehicle accident where a vehicle possible entered a home. Officers arrived and located the vehicle on the lawn of one of the homes and the 27-year-old Richmond man standing near his vehicle. The man was determined to have been driving while under the influence and was placed under arrest. The man was transported to the El Cerrito Police Department and later released to a sober ride with a citation.

December 3rd

Vehicle theft – 800 block of Arlington Blvd:
Between 12/2/17 at 2030 hours and 12/3/17 at 0900 hours, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 2005 Honda Accord.

Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of paraphernalia, Possession of paraphernalia, Warrant arrest – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
An officer was dispatched to a man slumped over the wheel in the parking lot. The officer contacted the 45-year-old Brentwood man and found that he had a warrant issued for his arrest. The man told officers that there was methamphetamine and heroin in his vehicle. The vehicle was searched and the narcotics were located. Officers also located a glass smoking pipe, syringes, and materials used to prepare heroin. The man was transported to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center for unrelated health concerns and released to hospital staff.

Traffic collision with injuries – San Pablo Ave / Conlon Ave:
At 1323 hours, officers were dispatched to a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle. The motorcyclist was sideswiped by a vehicle changing lanes. This caused the motorcyclist to lose control, tip the bike on its side, and strike the center median. The motorcycle and rider came to a stop a significant distance further. The motorcyclist suffered a broken ankle and was transported to the hospital.

December 4th

Residential burglary – 7600 block of Potrero Ave:
Between 12/3/17 at 2030 hours and 12/4/17 at 0930 hours, an unknown suspect located a spare house key in the victim’s garage and used it to enter the residence. Once inside, the suspect meticulously rummaged through rooms and stole property.

Shoplifting – (Walgreen’s) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 2120 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 45-year-old male from San Francisco. The male entered the business and concealed items in a bag and left the store without paying. The male was located at nearby and was identified via in field – show up. The male was booked and released on a citation.

December 5th

Residential Burglary - 8800 block of Terrace Dr:
An unknown suspect forced entry into the victim’s residence via smashing the window of the rear door. The suspect stole electronics and fled. The burglary occurred between 1409-1416 hours on December 5th.

Theft/Resisting Arrest - (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 0600 hours, officers were dispatched to Safeway in regards to a male attempting to steal a locked bicycle IFO the store. An officer located a 39-year-old transient male near a bicycle. An investigation revealed the suspect attempted to steal the bicycle. When the officer attempted to take the suspect into custody, he physically resisted. After a brief struggle officers took the suspect into custody. The man was booked into County Jail in Martinez.

Stolen Vehicle – 11795 San Pablo Ave:
At 1936 hours, a victim called to report seeing his stolen vehicle in the parking lot of the Home Depot. The victim followed the vehicle and found it parked in the Trevino’s parking lot. Officers arrived on scene and detained the three occupants. The 19-year-old male driver from Richmond was arrested, booked at ECPD, and transported t MDF.

Robbery – (Walgreen’s) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 2039 hours, officers were dispatched to the business for a reported robbery. Two suspects jumped the pharmacy counter and began taking items. They left the store via the emergency door prior to police arrival. Suspect 1 is described as a black male adult, 5’10”, thin build, wearing a white hooded sweater and brown pants. Suspect 2 is described as a black male adult, 5’11”, medium build, wearing all black clothing, possibly armed with a firearm.

December 6th

Theft/Vandalism - (El Cerrito Honda) 11755 San Pablo Ave:
At 0955 hours an officer was sent to the business on a reported theft that had occurred. Upon arrival it was determined S-1 (Unknown) stole the trunk lid on a grey 2012 Honda Civic which had been parked along the south side of the building. The suspect also caused significant damage to the vehicle. There was a license plate attached to the trunk lid. .

Residential Burglary - 1400 block of Navellier St:
The victim reported a burglary occurred to their residence. It was determined S-1 (Unknown) entered the residence through an unlocked door and stole a wooden jewelry box containing jewelry and other personal items. Occurred 12/3/17 between 0730-0900 hrs. No suspect information.

Defrauding and Innkeeper, Public Intoxication – (Denny’s) 11344 San Pablo Ave:
At 2125 hours, Officers responded to a dine and dash and Denny’s. The suspects were located near Knott Ave and San Pablo Ave but fled from officers on foot. They were quickly apprehended. A 20-year-old man from Oakland, a 26-year-old man from Richmond, and a 25-year-old transient male were placed under citizen arrest. They were all heavily intoxicated and transported to county jail after being booked at ECPD.

Shoplifting – (Walgreens) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 2313 hours, an officer responded to Walgreens for a theft. The suspect, a white male in his 40s, balding hair with a beard, wearing a green jacket with brown design on the back, black jeans, green sandals, and carrying a black messenger/laptop bag, stole first aid products and left on foot towards Ross.

December 7th

Auto Burglary, Evading - (Peet’s Coffee) 9895 San Pablo Ave:
At 0641 hours an officer was conducting a security check of the business and saw a silver Infinity with paper plates and through the parking lot. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle for a vehicle code violation and it did not stop. A pursuit was initialed and a short vehicle pursuit occurred, however the pursuit was cancelled due to public safety concerns. It was determined that a window smash auto burglary had just occurred in the parking lot of Peet’s coffee and the Infinity was the suspect vehicle.

Warrant – San Pablo Ave / Blake St:
At 2333 hours, an officer arrested a 31-year-old man from Oakland on a no cite Contra Costa County warrant stemming from an ECPD case. He was booked at the ECPD and then transported to Martinez Detention Facility.
