UPDATE: BLIZZARD CONDITIONS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM THIS
EVENING AND WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM FRIDAY TO NOON SATURDAY
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ADVISES THAT BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE UNTIL 7 PM THIS EVENING AND A WIND CHILL ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM FRIDAY TO NOON EST SATURDAY.
Blizzard conditions expected through mid or late afternoon TODAY with 6 to 12 inches of snow possible.
Damage to trees and power lines is possible.
Following the storm bitter cold temperatures will follow.
Expect wind chills to range from 5 below zero to 15 below zero Friday night into early Saturday.
Blizzard Conditions until 7 PM EST this evening.
For the Wind Chill Advisory, from 6 PM Friday to noon EST
Saturday.
Northerly winds gusting as high as 45 to 55 mph along the immediate coast will cause whiteout conditions in blowing snow.
Significant drifting of the snow is likely right through Friday night.

REGULARLY SCHEDULED PICK UPS FOR TODAY ARE BEING DONE. CREWS WILL BE AROUND AGAIN TOMORROW AFTER COMPLETION OF SNOW PLOWING OPERATIONS TO PICK UP WHAT WAS MISSED.

In the event of downed utility wires, you should immediately report them to JCP&L at the number above and the Berkeley Township Police Department at 732-341-6600. Residents should never go near a downed power line, even if they think it is no longer carrying electricity.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Residents should take necessary measures to secure all of your loose items on your property. Such as patio furniture, chairs, tables, sporting equipment, awnings, etc.
During this snow event please make sure you have sufficient food and water supply along with medications you may need over a few days. Check on your neighbors, including the elderly. If you have to venture out during the snow, remove all snow from your car, especially the hood of your vehicle, before driving.
Residents in low lying areas that frequently flood, can use the upper parking lot at the Berkeley Recreation Center or the lower lot at the Central Regional Middle School for vehicles.
