Fire Hydrant Accessibility - Resident and Business Cooperation Requested
The Muskegon Public Safety Office, Muskegon Fire Department and Department of Public Works are asking City of Muskegon resident’s participation in keeping the area around fire hydrants clear of snow buildup such that they will be accessible in the case of a fire emergency.
With more than 2,000 hydrants in the city, keeping them clear and accessible is a daunting task without the cooperation and participation from residents. We never know when or where a house or business fire is going to occur. For the safety of everyone and the greatest possibility to minimize damage it is in everyone’s best interest to have all hydrants accessible for when that emergency happens.
We are grateful for the assistance in this endeavor by residents and businesses in past years and we ask for your participation again this year.
We wish everyone a safe winter season.
