P.O.P. Operation Results In Eight Arrests
On January 5, 2018, the Anderson Police Department's Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Unit and members of the Shasta County Probation Department conducted a series of probation compliance checks and pro-active enforcement efforts. The operation targeted known offenders and high crime areas within the City of Anderson.
Ten probation compliance checks were conducted on felony probationers within the City. Of those ten, five of the probationers would found to be out of compliance with the terms and conditions of their supervised release.
During a probation search on Howard St. officers recovered three firearms, including a PAP M85, AK-Style Pistol, and two revolvers. Officers also located ammunition, methamphetamine, and a pair of brass knuckles.
The following arrests were made during the operation:
David Stroup, age 50, of Anderson, was arrested for possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of ammunition by a felon.
Matthew Bradley, age 36, of Anderson, was arrested for possession of brass knuckles, possession of methamphetamine, possession of pepper-spray by a felon, and a violation of his probation.
Sierra Cook, age 27, of Anderson, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, trespassing, and a violation of probation.
Merton Weiser, age 35, of Anderson, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Jonathan Hill-Hawkins, age 30, of Redding, was arrested on a parolee at large warrant, as well as five additional Shasta County warrants.
Sierra Cook, age 27, of Anderson, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, trespassing, and a violation of probation.
Jose Rabago, age 32, of Corning, was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant.
Leslie Freiberg, age 39, of Anderson, was arrested for a violation of her probation.
