...Freezing Rain Expected Sunday...
.Warmer air will overspread the cold air that`s been in place for
nearly three weeks Saturday night and Sunday. While this will
ultimately result in warmer air temperatures across the region,
precipitation will likely start off as light freezing rain.
Additionally, ground temperatures will be slower to warm than the
air temperatures so there may be icing even after the air
temperature warms above freezing.
...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO NOON CST
SUNDAY...
* WHAT...Freezing rain expected. The ice will result in
difficult travel conditions. Total ice accumulations of up to
one tenth of an inch are expected.
* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Kansas and
central, northwest and west central Missouri.
* WHEN...From 6 AM to noon CST Sunday.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of freezing rain
will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads.
Slow down and use caution while driving.
