Freezing Rain has arrived in SW corner of Madison County
The freezing rain which is forecast for central Indiana has arrived in the SW corner at this time. Motorists should make plans now to allow extra time for their Monday morning commute to work and school. Highway crews will be out all night treating and plowing roadways, however the freezing rain will create hazardous driving conditions. Motorists are reminded to:
- Slow Down
- Allow extra stopping distance between vehicles
- Prepare your automobile by making sure you have a full tank of gas, cellular phone charger, blankets and warm clothes
- Clean off ALL snow / ice from your windshielf before driving
- Allow time for your engine to warm up before you drive
- Tell family members your route of travel and expected ETA
- Watch out for "the other cars" on the road.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 1 PM EST MONDAY...
* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected...including freezing rain and snow. The ice and light snow will result in difficult travel conditions, including during the morning commute on Monday. Total wet snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch are expected.
* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central, south central and southeast Indiana.
* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 1 PM EST Monday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Be prepared for reduced visibilities at times. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
