Good Monday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 1/5/18, through Sunday, 1/7/18.

1/5/18

-300 blk Maurer, Anton: 911 Hang-up. A deputy responded to a 911 hang-up call from a residence. It was determined to be a child playing with the phone. No offenses were reported.

-Hwy 114 at Hummingbird, Smyer: Vehicle Crash. Deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle crash in the area. DPS troopers conducted the crash investigation and deputies assisted on scene as needed.

-FM 2646 at Coyote Rd, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to assist at the scene of another single vehicle crash. Troopers investigated the crash and deputies provided traffic control as needed.

-3500 blk Onion Shed Rd, Anton: Terroristic Threat. A deputy met with a complainant regarding threats that were made against him by another individual. Information was collected for a report and the matter is under investigation.

-Hwy 114 at FM 2646, Levelland: Welfare Check. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to an individual walking along the roadway. The individual was contacted and transported to a residence in Levelland.

1/6/17

-400 blk Igoe, Anton: Alarm. A deputy responded to an alarm at a residence in the area. The deputy met with the homeowner and the activation was accidental. No offenses were reported.

-Sherman at Hickory, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection. Deputies provided assistance until PD units arrived to conduct the crash investigation.

-200 blk College, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies were dispatched to assist in detaining an individual related to a forgery. The individual was located and turned over to Levelland PD when they arrived. Levelland PD is handling the investigation.

-Hwy 114 at FM 168, Smyer: Reckless Driver. Deputies were dispatched to a reported reckless driver in the area. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.

-800 blk N. Hwy 385, Levelland: Civil Issue. A deputy was notified of a dispute over child custody at a residence in the area. Deputies spoke with both parties and explained civil remedies. Parties were separated.

-Hwy 114 at Richmond, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to the area due to a vehicle crash. A vehicle struck a deer on the roadway. A Trooper arrived and conducted the crash investigation.

-Sagebrush Rd at Roughneck Rd, Sundown: Suspicious Vehicle. Deputies were dispatched to the area related to a suspicious vehicle. The area was checked and the vehicle that was described was not located. The area continues to be on a close patrol.

-1000 blk 11th ST, Levelland: Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance in Levelland. It was determined multiple individuals were at the residence and making too much noise. No offenses were observed or reported.

-6000 blk E FM 41, Ropesville: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy responded to the area related to a reported suspicious vehicle. The area was checked and no vehicle was located. The area is on close patrol by deputies.

-US 84 at Onion Shed Rd, Anton: Traffic Obstruction. A deputy was notified of an animal in the roadway. The animal was located and was removed.

-US 84 at FM 168, Anton: Reckless Driver. Deputies responded to reported reckless driver in the area. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.

1/7/18

-100 blk FM 1490, Levelland: Assault. A deputy was dispatched to a disturbance at a residence in the area related to an assault complaint. The deputy met with parties and it was determined an assault had occurred and one individual was placed under arrest for the offense. The individual was transported and released to jail staff without incident.

-FM 2130 at FM 1294, Anton: Fire. Deputies responded to assist with a reported structure fire in the area. Multiple fire departments responded and extinguished the fire.

-100 blk Lakeview, Levelland: Juvenile Issue. A deputy met with a complainant regarding a juvenile complaint. After speaking with the complainant it was determined no offenses occurred, and remedies were advised to the individual.

-Lovebird Rd at Cactus, Smyer: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was notified of a suspicious vehicle in the area. The vehicle was located and the driver advised she stopped to use the cell phone. Information was documented.

-Sherman at Cherry, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies were notified of a possible disturbance in the area. The area was checked and no disturbance was located.

-700 blk E. 3rd St, Anton: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a residence in the area related to a reported disturbance. Deputies met with both parties and it was determined to be verbal only. No offenses were reported.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 1/8/18 at 0800 hours: 52 in Hockley County, 1 to be processed, 2 out of county.
