HMPD Arrests Man for Felony Hit and Run.
On Sunday, January 7, 2017 at approximately 2:00pm, Hope Mills Police Officers responded to the area of the Oak Haven Road and Applegate Road intersection in reference to two pedestrians that had been struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, Officers found that that the vehicle that struck the pedestrians had left the scene. Officers, with the assistance of citizens, located the suspect vehicle later that afternoon on Park Garden Court in Hope Mills. The vehicle was found to be unoccupied when it was located. During the course of their investigation into this crime, Officers developed information that indicated Roman Keith Blount, 21 of the 2800 block of Berringer Drive, Fayetteville was the driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrians. Blount was arrested by Hope Mills Police Officers on Monday, January 8, 2017 and transported to the Cumberland County Detention Center where he was jailed under a $2500.00 bond for the following offense:
