Fatal Hit and Run Collision that occurred on 1/4/18 
On 01-04-18 at approximately 1904 hours, the Chula Vista Police Department received several 911 calls that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle in the 1500 block of Third Ave in Chula Vista.
The vehicle fled before police officers arrived at the scene. Officers arrived on scene and discovered that an adult male, 94 years of age, had been struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on Third Ave. Officers, along with Medical, and Fire personnel rendered aid at the scene.
The victim sustained several injuries and was transported by medical personnel to UCSD Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The vehicle was described as an early 2000’s white SUV driven by a male wearing a red baseball cap.
The cause of this collision is under investigation. The Chula Vista Police Traffic division will be conducting the investigation.
