Pedestrian Killed in Hit and Run Collision

Modesto, CA – Officers are looking for a vehicle that struck and killed a man early this morning on Tully Road.
At about 5:30 a.m., a jogger called in 9-1-1 reporting a man asleep, blocking the entrance of Big Valley Church on Tully Road. When officers arrived, they found the man with visible injuries and unresponsive. Life saving measures were performed, however, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The early investigation indicates that the man, believed to be in his 60’s or 70’s, was walking along the east side of Tully Road when he was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound. The vehicle fled the area prior to officers arriving.
Traffic investigators are looking for a 2001-2003 black Honda Civic with major passenger and front end damage, to include the windshield. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
