Good Thursday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Tuesday, 1/9/18, and Wednesday, 1/10/18.

1/9/18

-1400 blk Cactus, Levelland: Theft. A deputy met with complainants regarding a theft of a computer. Information to a report was collected and the matter is under investigation.

-400 blk Badger, Whitharral: Burglary. Deputies were dispatched to a residence related to a burglary offense. Several items were taken and the offense is under investigation.

-FM 303 at FM 1585, Sundown: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to a vehicle crash near the intersection. DPS troopers arrived and conducted the crash investigation.

-1800 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Burglary. Deputies met with a complainant regarding a burglary of a habitation offense. Several items were taken and the matter is under investigation.

-1800 blk FM 1490, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. Deputies responded to the area related to a complaint of suspicious activity. The individuals were located and were found to be working in the area. Information was logged.

-Hwy 385 at Caribou Ln, Levelland: Noise Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a siren at a well site. The owner was contacted to check the site.

1/10/18

-600 blk Carson, Ropesville: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a reported verbal disturbance at a residence in the area. No offenses were reported by either party. Information was collected for a report and parties were separated. One individual was transported to a family member in Levelland.

-400 blk W. 9th St, Anton: Alarm. Deputies responded to an alarm at a residence in the area. The property was checked and found to be secure.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Fraud. A deputy spoke with a complainant regarding a report for credit card abuse. The report was filed and the matter is being investigated.

-600 blk Sylvan, Anton: Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to a residence regarding a disturbance between family members. One individual was transported to an area hospital for a mental health evaluation. The individual was later transported to Lubbock to a facility for further evaluation.

-FM 303 at Calico Rd, Levelland: Abandoned Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to check status on an apparent abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was checked and will be tagged for towing.

-800 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a person walking door-to-door. The area was checked and the individual was not located.

-Hwy 114 at Denver, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies responded to assist Levelland PD with a combative subject. The individual was placed in custody and transported to the jail. Levelland PD is handling the criminal investigation.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, civil process service, and investigative follow-up activities.

Jail population as of 1/11/18 at 0800 hours: 58 in Hockley County, 2 to be processed, 2 out of county.
