SRJC District Police Arrest Burglary Suspect
On Wednesday, January 10, 2017 at approximately 11:00 pm, a Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) District Police Department Cadet observed a suspicious person, later identified as Laurence Patrick Buckley 26 years old of Rohnert Park, climbing onto the roof of Call Hall on the Santa Rosa Campus. The cadet informed dispatch and police officers responded, locating Buckley walking on the roof of the building.
The police officers were able to establish a perimeter and tried multiple time to have Buckley climb down. After several attempts, Buckley finally complied, climbed down, and was detained. It was discovered that Buckley was on court probation out of Sonoma County for a prior convictions of resisting arrest and drug possession. The police officers discovered several of the building’s windows had been tampered with and interior rooms had been ransacked. A search of Buckley revealed that he was in possession of several new office supplies taken from a storage cabinet in Call Hall. Buckley was then arrested, transported, and booked at Sonoma County Jail for burglary, resisting arrest, vandalism, and for violation of probation.
