Modesto, CA – The victim and suspect vehicle have been identified in Tuesday morning’s fatal hit and run collision on Tully Road.
At about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, a jogger called in 9-1-1 reporting a man asleep, blocking the entrance of Big Valley Church on Tully Road. When officers arrived, they found the 66-year-old Gregory Henderson with visible injuries and unresponsive. Life saving measures were performed, however, Gregory was pronounced dead at the scene.
The early investigation indicates that Gregory was walking along the east side of Tully Road when he was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound. The vehicle fled the area prior to officers arriving. Evidence at the scene indicated that the vehicle involved was a 2001-2003 black Honda Civic. After receiving information that a vehicle with major front end damage was parked on Tully Road, officers contacted the resident and identified a possible driver. At this time an arrest has not been made and the investigation is ongoing.
If you have any information regarding the vehicle or suspect involved in this collision, please call Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
