The list below shows planned construction activities for the South Bay Rapid project. Travelers are encouraged to allow extra time to reach their destination or consider using alternate routes. Please note, construction schedules are subject to change and community members may see trucks and staged equipment at various locations around the project.

Construction activities for the week of January 15:
Interstate 805 to Heritage Road (Segment 1A)
• Lane closures along westbound East Palomar Street between Davies Drive and Medical Center Drive. These closures are in place 24/7 for retaining wall and utility relocation work. Pedestrian detours will be in place. The bus stop east of Medical Center Drive has been relocated to the west side of Medical Center Drive.
• Lane and sidewalk closures along westbound East Palomar Street between Heritage Road and Paseo Ladera. These closures are in place 24/7 during sidewalk demolition and construction.
• Temporary bus stop closure along East Palomar Street at Brashear Place. For MTS schedules, detours, and routes during this closure, please visit www.SDMTS.com.

Heritage Road to View Park Way (Segment 1B) – City of Chula Vista
• Periodic lane closures in both directions along East Palomar Street between Heritage Road and Olympic Parkway for continued road work improvements.

Olympic Parkway to State Route 125 (SR 125) (Segment 2)
• Periodic daytime closures of one westbound lane on Olympic Parkway between East Palomar Street and La Media Road between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Temporary signage will be in place to alert motorists. Motorists can expect short delays.

Olympic Parkway to State Route 125 (SR 125) (Segment 2)
• Periodic daytime closures of the left‐turn pocket on northbound East Palomar Street onto Olympic Parkway between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Temporary signage will be in place to alert motorists. Motorists can expect short delays.
• Periodic noise, dust and daytime lane closures along East Palomar Street between Santa Cora Avenue and Magdalena Avenue for construction of the guideway.
• Periodic noise and dust along Impressionist Drive for construction of the guideway bridge barrier and privacy walls.

Town Center Drive to Birch Road (Segment 2)
• Periodic noise and dust along Eastlake Parkway adjacent to Kestrel

Falls Road while landscape crews relocate Mexican Fan Palm trees.
