Good Tuesday afternoon! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 1/12/18, through Monday, 1/15/18.
1/12/18
-3100 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Loose Livestock. Deputies responded to the area related to a complaint of two loose horses. The horses were secured and deputies were unable to make contact with the owner.
-FM 303 at Justin Rd, Sundown: Animal Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to loose dogs. The area was checked and no dogs were located.
-West Houston at Kelly Rd, Levelland: Reckless Driver. A deputy was notified of a reckless driving complaint in the area. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.
-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Theft. A deputy spoke with a complainant over the phone regarding a stolen cell phone. The offense reportedly occurred in Levelland and the caller was referred to Levelland PD for the report.
-US 62/82 at FM 41, Ropesville: Reckless Driver. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a reckless driver on US 62/82. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.
-300 blk Edwards, Anton: Protective Order Violation. A deputy responded to a reported disturbance at a residence in the area. One of the parties was the subject of a protective order and was later arrested for violating the order. The individual was transported to the jail and booked on the charge without incident.
-100 blk Veretto Rd, Levelland: Animal Complaint. A deputy met with a complainant regarding apparent abandoned dogs at a residence. The owner was located and surrendered the dogs to Levelland Animal control. The matter is under investigation for possible criminal charges.
-FM 1294 at County Rd, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to locate a loose cow in the area. The cow was located and secured.
300 blk W. 8th St, Anton: disturbance. A deputy responded to a reported disturbance at a residence. The parties stated the argument was verbal only and the matter was handled by separating parties. No offenses were reported.
-2300 blk Owl Rd, Smyer: Suspicious Activity. A deputy was dispatched to check on a vacant residence with the doors open. The residence was checked and secured. No offenses were reported.
1/13/18
-900 blk W. Hwy 114, Levelland: Motorist Assist. A deputy stopped to aid a motorist with apparent vehicle issues. The deputy assisted until the roadway was clear.
-FM 2306 at FM 1490, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to the area related to a complaint of loose livestock. The livestock were located and secured.
-800 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. A deputy was asked to contact a complainant regarding a suspicious phone call. The deputy made multiple attempts was not able to contact the complainant.
-100 blk Mason Rd, Smyer: Suspicious Activity. A deputy responded to the area related to a call of a complainant being followed by another vehicle. The deputy met with the complainants and attempted to locate the vehicle. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.
-100 blk Ranch, Ropesville: Criminal Mischief. A deputy responded to a complaint of reported criminal mischief at a residence. A report was taken related to the incident and the matter is under investigation.
-US 62/82 at FM 41, Ropesville: Vehicle Crash. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a minor vehicle collision. Troopers completed the crash investigation.
1/14/18
-US 62/82 at Foster Rd, Ropesville: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a loose horse in the area. The horse was located and was secured.
-FM 2378 at Deer Rd, Smyer: Unattended Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to an unattended vehicle stopped in the roadway. Attempts were made to locate the owner but due to the vehicle obstructing the roadway it was towed from the area.
-US 62/82 at FM 41, Ropesville: Losoe Livestock. Deputies responded to check the area related to loose horses. The area was checked and none were located.
-300 bllk Duggan, Anton: Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at a residence in the area. It was determined to be verbal only and no offenses were reported. The matter was handled by separation.
-1800 blk Cactus, Levelland: Shots Fired. Deputies were notified of shots fired in the area. Troopers assisted by checking the area and no one was located. While en route to the call deputies were diverted to a possible fight in progress.
-3100 blk Canada Rd, Levelland: Assault. Deputies were dispatched to a possible fight at a residence in the area. Parties were separated prior to arrival of deputies. A physical altercation occurred and one party refused medical assistance. A report was taken and the matter is under investigation. The suspected party was not on scene when deputies arrived.
-2700 blk Belvedere Rd, Levelland: Theft. A deputy met with a complainant regarding a theft complaint. The information on several stolen tools was collected, as well as statements related to the incident. The matter is under investigation at this time.
-3700 blk Quail Rd, Ropesville: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to a residence related to horses that showed up on their property. The horses were housed at the location until the owners are contacted.
-FM 1490 at FM 597, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a vehicle driving in the area. The individual later called and reported a neighbor was looking for a dog.
1/15/18
-6700 blk Foster Rd, Ropesville: Loose Livestock. A deputy located the owner of the loose livestock from 1/14/18. Arrangements are being made to have the owners pick the horses up.
Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, and investigative follow up activities.
