***ROBBERY ARREST***
On 1/7/2018 at 22:28 hours, the Red Oak Police Department personnel were dispatched to the Red Oak Mart located at 235 N. State Highway 342 in regards to a robbery that had just occurred. The on duty dispatcher advised that the reporting person informed them that a white male subject carrying a “long rifle” had just robbed them and ran off. The suspect was described as a white male, 5’6-5’10, weighing 125 -150 lbs and was last seen wearing all black with a black hood and orange hat, white t-shirt and a mask. The suspect took the cash from the register and the clerk’s wallet and fled. Red Oak Police Department personnel deployed an on duty canine unit which tracked the suspect to a general location which led to the identification of a person of interest. Upon further investigation, an interview with the person of interest led to a full confession and the recovery of the victim’s wallet and weapon used by the defendant. The Red Oak Police Department Criminal Investigation Division has identified the defendant as Grubbs, Jaden Austin W/M (18 YOA) of Red Oak. On 1/10/2018 at 16:56 hours, Mr. Grubbs was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated robbery in connection with the January 7th robbery and is currently being held at the Ellis County Jail on a $150,000.00 bond.
