Pedestrian Safety Workshop at the Senior Center

Pedestrian Safety Workshop at the Senior Center
February 6 at 10:30am

Santa Clara is interested in becoming more pedestrian-friendly. Older adults are one segment of our community who need to have the option to walk for transportation, physical activity, socializing and other purposes. However, older pedestrians are at greater risk of injury or death than many other age groups. There are things that seniors can do to address pedestrian safety issues and inspire a healthy lifestyle.

The Santa Clara Police Department will be presenting information developed by the University of North Carolina Highway Safety Research Center for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, titled Pedestrian Safety Workshop: A Focus on Older Adults at the Santa Clara Senior Center (1303 Fremont Street) on Tuesday, February 6 from 10:30-11:30 am. Space is limited, pre-registration is required and participation is free.
To register, contact the Senior Center at (408)615-3170.

Funding for this workshop has been made available through a grant from the Office of Traffic Safety.
