Several individuals have reported being contacted by these criminals. One victim sent $1000 to these criminals. Once you send money it is gone!
The Santa Fe County Sheriff warns the public about a phone scam caller that is posing as a Santa Fe County Sheriff Deputy.
This scammer is trying to scare people into sending money by telling people that they may have an outstanding warrant, court order or failure to appear for jury duty against them.
Under no circumstance will any law enforcement agency, court official or IRS employee call and request money over the phone.
DO NOT BECOME A VICTIM OF THIS TYPE OF CRIME.
