As a result of an investigation into the sale of illegal drugs by 25-year-old Alan Garcia-Soni that spanned several months, Sheriff's Office investigators obtained a search warrant for his Great Barracuda Lane, Hilton Head Island residence and multiple warrants for his arrest: six counts of Sale and Distribution of Marijuana and six counts of Sale and Distribution of Marijuana within 1/2 mile of a School, Public Playground or Park—Garcia-Soni's residence is located within 1/2 mile of Barker Field.
 
Early this morning, investigators conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in which Alan Garcia-Soni was an occupant. Garcia-Soni was arrested and served with the arrest warrants for the six counts of Sale and Distribution of Marijuana and the six counts of Sale and Distribution of Marijuana within ½ mile of a School, Public Playground or Park. Garcia-Soni was transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center, where he was incarcerated without incident.
 
Immediately following Alan Garcia-Soni’s arrest, Sheriff’s Office investigators served the search warrant at his Great Barracuda Lane residence. During the search warrant, investigators located and seized marijuana, cocaine, MDMA and two handguns—one of the handguns had been reported stolen and the other had an obliterated serial number. As a result of the illegal drugs and handguns found at his residence, investigators charged Garcia-Soni at the Beaufort County Detention Center with Possession of a Stolen Handgun, Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number, Possession with intent to Distribute a Schedule I Drug (MDMA), Possession with intent to Distribute Marijuana and Possession of Cocaine.
 
As of late this afternoon, bond had not been set for any of Garcia-Soni’s charges. Thank you for your continued interest in the safety of our community.
