Good Monday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 1/19/18, through Sunday, 1/21/18.
1/19/18
-1800 blk Maize Rd, Levelland: Burglary. A deputy was dispatched to a residence in reference to a vehicle burglary. Several items were reported stolen, including a weapon. The incident is under investigation.
-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Found Property. A deputy spoke with an individual who reported finding a bag on her property that did not belong to her. Arrangements were made to collect the item.
-6800 blk Maine Rd, Anton: Burglary. Deputies responded to a reported burglary in progress in the area. The caller reported seeing a black SUV leaving the area. Several items were taken from the residence including several firearms. The matter is under investigation and surrounding counties were notified.
-Bison Rd at FM 3261, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. A deputy responded to a vehicle crash in the area. Deputies provided assistance on scene and DPS troopers conducted the crash investigation.
-US 62/82 at FM 41, Ropesville: Suspicious Person. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a suspicious person at a business in the area. The area was checked and the individual was not located.
1/20/18
-2400 blk Hwy 114, Levelland: Theft. A deputy met with complainants regarding a theft report. Several tools were reported stolen. The information as collected for a report. Several of the stolen items have been recovered and the matter is under investigation.
-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Assist Other Agency. Deputies were notified by Hale County SO of a runaway that may be staying at a residence in Anton. Deputies assisted by searching the area to attempt to locate the juvenile. The juvenile was later located in another county and returned to guardians.
-100 blk Leon Rd, Smyer: Assist EMS. A deputy was dispatched to a residence related to an injured individual. One person was transported for treatment.
-100 blk E. Richardson, Sundown: Suspicious Person. A deputy responded to the area after being notified by a complainant that she was being followed by another individual. Deputies contacted the other party, who had already left the area, and was advised not to contact the caller.
-3500 blk India Rd, Levelland: Animal Complaint. A deputy responded to a report of missing goats from a property in the area. At this time no offense has been reported, as they are likely loose in the area. Deputies will follow up to determine if the goats were located.
-FM 2130 at Colorado Rd, Smyer: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to locate several loose cattle in the area. The cattle were located and secured.
-Alamo Rd at Alaska Rd, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a vehicle parked along the roadway in the area. The area was checked and the vehicle had already left.
1/21/18
-3500 blk Sagebrush, Sundown: Check Welfare. A deputy was dispatched to a residence to contact an individual regarding several threats. The individual was located and was released to a guardian and family members. No offenses were reported.
-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Assault. A deputy was contacted in reference to an assault that occurred in Sundown. The complainant reportedly was assaulted by several family members. Information was collected for a report related to the matter.
-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Civil Issue. A deputy received a call regarding a civil matter over residency. Civil remedies were advised and the complainant was directed to the appropriate court.
-FM 1490 at FM 2306, Levelland: Loose Livestock. While on patrol, a deputy located several loose cattle in the area. The cattle were secured.
-Hwy 114 at Wildcat Rd, Levelland: Reckless Driver. A deputy was notified of a reckless driver that was detained by a Cochran County deputy in the area. A trooper arrived on scene and following an investigation one individual was arrested.
-3300 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Assist EMS. A deputy was dispatched to assist EMS with a combative individual. The deputy was later cancelled as the individual as being transported.
-FM 303 at FM 300, Levelland: Motorist Assist. A deputy stopped to assist a motorist with vehicle issues. They were able to get the vehicle back on the road and the driver continued to his destination.
Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, traffic enforcement, and civil process service.
Jail population as of 1/22/18 at 0800 hours: 51 in Hockley County, 2 to be processed, 7 out of county.
