Traffic Stop Yields Second Arrest of Suspect within a Week
On January 22, at approximately 3:43 pm, Ripon Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the parking lot of the Flying J Traval Plaza for a registration violation.
Upon contact with the occupants of the vehicle, the driver, Buddy Walton (52 yrs of Ripon) was determined to be on searchable probation. A search of Walton’s person was conducted by officers which yielded drug paraphernalia. Officers completed a search of the vehicle and located an amount of Methamphetamine and more drug paraphernalia.
Ripon’s drug detection K-9 Kilo searched the vehicle and located approximately an ounce of additional Methamphetamine.
Walton was placed under arrest for Possession of Methamphetamine for Sale and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The passenger, Migual Banales-Anaya (30 yrs of Ripon), was also placed under arrest for Possession of Methamphetamine for Sale. Both suspects were booked in the San Joaquin County Jail on the charges.
Walton was previously arrested on January 16, for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance without a Prescription by Ripon Officers.
