Chemical Endangerment Arrest
(Etowah County, AL) An Attalla woman has been arrested in connection to chemical endangerment of a child, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Jennifer Lynn Lewis, 33, of Attalla, was is charged with one count of chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed, a felony,” investigator Brandi Fuller said.
Lewis was initially arrested on January 17, 2018, for failure to appear on unlawful possession of a controlled substance. While in custody, it was later learned that Lewis was pregnant. She admitted to illegally using Suboxone, methamphetamine and marijuana. Lewis tested positive for Suboxone and marijuana.
She is detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $10,000 cash bond for the chemical endangerment charge. As a condition of her bond, she must successfully complete a drug treatment program and will be supervised by Etowah Community Corrections upon release.
Etowah County Department of Human Resources is involved with the case.
