A explosion at Windset Farms 1650 S. Black Rd. Was a ruptured pipe, under control.

A Major Incident reported in Santa Maria, under control now.
At 0458 we were dispatched to a reported Structure Fire with Explosion at Windset Farms at 1650 S. Black Rd. Santa Maria City Fire responded with 1 chief officer, 1 truck, company, 3 engine companies, with 1 chief and 1 engine company and a Haz-Mat response from Santa Barbara County Fire.
A release of liquid CO2 from a rupture pipe buried in the ground is what was heard and felt at the site. The leak was next to a greenhouse and away from the storage tanks. A Plant worker was able to shut the valves off at the storage tanks and stopped the flow of product. The vapor cloud dissipated in a few minutes after the flow was shut off. No product left the property. Black Road was shut down for fire equipment to stage on.
There was no fire or flash fire, the damage to the site was from the rupture of the pipe.
The Haz Mat unit was cancelled prior to its arrival, and Santa Barbara County Fire equipment was also released.
One Employee was transport to Marian Medical Center as a precaution due to the nature of the incident.
The cause of the rupture is under investigation. The area was inspected and determined that it was safe for, LIMITED USE ONLY this would allow for the cleanup and repair of the facility.
The scene and property was turned back over to property owners.
