Whitefish Bay and other area communities have seen an increase in vehicle thefts when vehicles are left running and unlocked to warm up in the morning. Do not leave a vehicle unlocked with the keys inside. Subjects are coming to the area to look for crimes of opportunity.
On Saturday, January 27th at approximately 10:41 AM such an opportunity presented itself when two subjects demanded keys to a vehicle from a resident while moving vehicles around in the garage. No weapons were displayed or recovered. The subjects left in the vehicle. Glendale Police observed the vehicle and pursued it until the subjects fled on foot. A 14 year old Milwaukee boy and a 15 year old Milwaukee boy were taken into custody and were taken to the Milwaukee County Children’s Center.
Please remain vigilant and look for suspicious persons or vehicles.
