Chemical Endangerment Arrest
(Etowah County, AL) A Gadsden woman has been arrested in connection to chemical endangerment of a child, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Trissa Renee Nesmith, 33, of Gadsden, is charged with one count of chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed, a felony,” investigator VaShaunda Ragland said.
Nesmith admitted to illegally using methamphetamine while pregnant. She tested positive for methamphetamine, amphetamine and benzodiazepine.
She is detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $10,000 cash bond for the chemical endangerment charge. As a condition of her bond, she must successfully complete a drug treatment program and will be supervised by Etowah Community Corrections upon release.
