Motor Vehicle Theft - 4100 Block of N Oakland Ave 
On Monday, January 29, 2018, at approximately 4:30 pm, Shorewood Police Department squads responded to a motor vehicle theft in the 4100 Block of N Oakland Ave. In this incident, the vehicle operator momentarily left the vehicle running and unattended while he went inside a local business. The thief then entered the unlocked vehicle and drove off with the victim’s car.
We would like remind everyone not to leave your vehicle running and unattended. It only takes seconds for a thief to enter the vehicle and drive away with it. We would also like to remind everyone to lock your vehicle anytime it is unattended, and to not leave a key (even a “hidden” one) inside of your unattended vehicle.
