Three arrested stemming from 02/19/17 shooting in 23000 block of Merrygrove Circle, Moreno Valley

On February 19, 2017, at 12:50 A.M., officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department responded to the 23000 block of Merrygrove Circle, in the city of Moreno Valley, regarding several reports of shots being fired. Officers arrived within minutes and located three females suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to the hospital where one ultimately succumbed to her injuries. The deceased victim was later identified as Jamilah Collier, age 17, from Eastvale. On April 14, 2017 at about 9:21 pm, officers assigned to the Moreno Valley Police Department were dispatched to the 22900 block of Allies Place located in the city of Moreno Valley, reference a shots fired call. Officers arrived on scene and located three victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victims were further identified as being two females ages 26 and 17, and one juvenile male age 16, all residents of Moreno Valley. Medical personnel were summoned to the scene and all three victims were transported to a local hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. The deceased victim in this shooting was later identified as Sofia Ceja, age 17, from Moreno Valley. Investigators from the Moreno Valley Police Department and the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit assumed both investigations.
Sheriff’s Central Homicide Investigators have identified and arrested twin brothers Christopher and Jonathan Armstead, age 22, and Diamond LeClaren Scott, age 21, all of Moreno Valley for the murders of Jamilah Collier and Sofia Ceja.

The identities of the victims are being withheld at this time.
Investigators from the Moreno Valley Police Department and the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation. This investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
