Good Thursday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Tuesday, 1/30/18, and Wednesday, 1/31/18.

1/30/18

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Civil Complaint. A deputy was notified to contact a complainant regarding a child custody issue. Multiple attempts were made to contact the individual, but the deputy was not able to speak with the complainant.

-2700 blk Belvedere Rd, Levelland: Check Welfare. A duty was dispatched to check the status of a juvenile that had previously been reported as a runaway. The juvenile was located and removed from the state system.

-Hwy 114 at Lakeview Rd, Levelland: Check Welfare. A deputy responded to a complaint of an individual walking along the highway in the area. The individual was located and was transported to a residence in the area.

1/31/18

-FM 2646 at Alaska Rd, Levelland: Fire. A deputy was dispatched to assist on scene with a grass fire. Traffic control was provided until the fire was extinguished by the fire department.

-FM 168 at FM 597, Anton: Funeral Escort. Deputies assisted with traffic control for a funeral escort from Anton.

-900 blk 4th ST, Levelland: Assist Agency. Deputies assisted with a warrant service with several agencies. Two individuals were taken into custody. Deputies provided assistance as needed.

-Hwy 114 at FM 2378, Smyer: Reckless Driver. A deputy responded to a complaint of a reckless driver traveling westbound from Lubbock County. The deputy was later advised the vehicle never entered Hockley County and stopped at a business in Lubbock.

-Hwy 385 at Maine Rd, Whitharral: Vehicle Crash. A deputy was notified of a crash involving a deer. The driver was gone when the deputy arrived and the deer was removed from the roadway. Information was forwarded to appropriate agencies.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 2/1/18 at 0800 hours: 50 in Hockley County, 3 to be processed, 2 out of county.
