Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for Thursday, 2/1/18.
Good Friday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Thursday, 2/1/18.
-500 blk Travis, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. Deputies were dispatched to check on an open door at a vacant residence in the area. No offenses were reported but information was collected for a report. The area remains on a close watch.
-6800 blk Hwy 114, Smyer: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a reported assault that occurred at a residence in the area. On arrival it was reported the suspect had fled the area. One individual reported having been assaulted by a family member and sustained minor injuries. Based on the information a report was taken for assault and the matter is under investigation.
-6800 blk Hwy 114, Smyer: Disturbance. Deputies were again dispatched to a residence in the area related to a verbal disturbance. No offenses were reported. The same parties from the earlier call were involved. Information was collected for the report. The suspect was gone prior to arrival of deputies.
-Sagebrush Rd at FM 303, Sundown: Assist Sundown PD. A deputy was dispatched to assist Sundown PD in the area. Assistance was provided as needed on the contact.
-2100 blk FM 2646, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. Deputies responded to a call regarding an open door on a residence. On arrival it was determined the residence was secure. The property was checked and no offenses were reported.
-500 blk Evening Tower Rd, Levelland: Animal Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to a residence after the homeowner reported her dog had been shot and had sustained a minor injury. Information was collected for a report and the cruelty to animal offense is under investigation.
-FM 1294 at Barton Ln, Levelland: Loose Livestock. While on patrol a deputy located a loose cow in the area. The cow was secured by the deputy.
-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Civil Issue. A deputy contacted a complainant regarding a court order. The order was explained to the complainant and civil remedies were advised.
Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.
Jail population as of 2/2/18 at 0800 hours: 52 in Hockley County, 6 to be processed, 2 out of county.
