On February 3, 2018, at 2:10 a.m. Deputy Loren Barchett conducted a traffic stop on a Black 2007 Pontiac passenger car near the intersection of US 41 and SR 168. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Barchett identified the driver as 45 year old Timothy Southgate of Evansville, Indiana. During a roadside investigation Deputy Barchett ran Mr. Southgate through the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles and discovered that Mr. Southgate’s license had been suspended on a prior conviction. At the conclusion of his investigation Deputy Barchett placed Mr. Southgate into custody and transported him to the Gibson County Jail. At the Gibson County Jail Mr. Southgate was charged with Driving While Suspended/ Prior. He has since posted a $650 bond.
