SUMMARY: On Sunday, February 4, 2018, at approximately 1:00 am, Deputy Kelly Bush from the Twin Peaks Station, observed a 2007 GMC Sierra traveling on Highway 18 between Highway 189 and Pine Avenue in Rim Forest. The GMC’s license plate was not properly illuminated. Deputy Bush stopped the GMC and contacted the driver, Farrell Widner, for the equipment violation. Jason Averhart and Ramona Wade were both passengers inside the GMC. Averhart was on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) Probation since 12/24/2017 for previous drug and violence-related charges. He also had an active arrest warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
During a search of the GMC, Deputy Bush located paraphernalia related to drug sales. Some of the items found inside the GMC included: US Currency, brand new small zippered plastic baggies, a digital scale, a large homemade wooden billy club, an ironwood baton, multiple fixed blade knives, glass meth pipes, and crystal methamphetamine. Widner, Averhart, and Wade were all arrested and transported to the West Valley Detention Center and booked for transportation of controlled substances for sales. While being booked, deputies located additional crystal methamphetamines on Wade while he was inside the jail facility. In total, over a quarter pound of crystal methamphetamine was confiscated as evidence.
