Burglary/Theft of Property Arrests
(Etowah County, Alabama) Three individuals have been arrested in connection to burglary and theft of property, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Christopher Joseph Hale, 31, Jennifer Gail Norris, 31, and Shawn Wesley Whitmore, 32, all of Gadsden, are each charged with one count of third degree burglary, one count of third degree theft of property and possession of burglar tools,” investigator Adam Chapman said.
The victim witnessed Hale and Whitmore stealing a Dewalt compressor, Kobalt compressor and accessories from a garage on the victim’s Coates Bend Road property. The victim immediately called 9-1-1 and gave a detailed description of the white, Ford Taurus the suspects were in and a direction of travel.
Deputies were able to quickly locate the vehicle on Highway 411, North Gadsden. The suspects initially refused to stop for the deputies. A short pursuit began then ended with apprehension of the suspects after a short foot chase.
All of the stolen property was found inside the Ford Taurus and has been returned to the rightful owner.
Hale is detained in the Etowah County Detention Center without bond. At the time of the incident, he was out on bond for a prior burglary and theft.
Whitmore is detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $8,700 bond. He also faces other misdemeanor and violation offenses.
Norris is detained in the Etowah County Center on $6,500 bond.
