Good Tuesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Monday, 2/5/18.

-100 blk Ellwood, Anton: Disturbance. A deputy responded to the area related to a juvenile disturbance. No offenses were reported and the disturbance was verbal only.

-400 blk Maurer, Anton: Assist Other Agency. A deputy was dispatched to the area to attempt to locate a runaway juvenile reported to Plainview Police. The juvenile was located and returned to a family member. Plainview PD was notified.

-Hwy 114 at FM 168, Smyer: Reckless Driver. A deputy was dispatched to the area to attempt to locate a reported reckless driver. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.

-Dallas Rd at Iowa Rd, Levelland: Abandoned Vehicle. A deputy responded to the area after receiving a call of a vehicle in the roadway. The owner was contacted to remove the vehicle.

-2nd St at Avenue H, Levelland: Suspicious Person. A deputy contacted an individual in the area near a vehicle pursuit another agency was involved in. The individual was found to have an active warrant and was arrested by the deputy. The individual was booked into the jail without incident.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Assault. A deputy responded to the LEC to complete a report related to an assault. A report was taken and the matter is under investigation.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, traffic enforcement, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 2/6/18 at 0800 hours: 50 in Hockley County, 3 to be processed, 2 out of county.
