NO ONE TAKES A CHANCE

NO ONE TAKES A CHANCE

Monday, 02/05/2018, morning was busy in Anderson. Several wanted felons were located and arrested. K9 Chance was deployed twice but no one wanted to take a chance of escape with him around.

On 02/05/2018 at approximately 7:30am an Anderson resident called the Anderson Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen during the night.

At approximately 9:45am the victim called advising he had received information that his vehicle was abandoned on Jeffries St. near Pinon Ave. Officers responded but the vehicle left. The victim safely followed the vehicle for several blocks until it stopped at an apartment complex on Bruce St. and three subjects exited and walked away. Officers arrived on scene and contacted Dylan Fravel, 26, of Anderson. Fravel was identified as one of the vehicle theft suspects and placed under arrest. Fravel also had one felony and two misdemeanor warrants for his arrest.

K9 Chance arrived on scene and began a suspect track from the stolen vehicle. K9 Chance directed officers through the apartment complex and to the A.C.I.D canal. K9 Chance located Dena Hammond, 27, of Anderson. Hammond was detained and later admitted to being a passenger in the stolen vehicle.

The third suspect was identified as Benjamin T. Wallace, 27, of Cottonwood. Wallace was able to escape the area but a warrant will be sought for his arrest.

Immediately after the above incident at approximately 10:49am, officers received an anonymous phone call advising that a wanted felon was hiding at a residence on Jeffries St. Officers responded and located Daniel Patrick, 35, of Anderson, in the front yard. Patrick quickly went into the residence. K9 Chance was announced and brought up to the residence. Not wanting to test his luck, Patrick exited the house and surrendered to officers. Patrick was booked into the Shasta County Jail on four felony warrants and one misdemeanor warrant.
