Suspicious Person Call Leads to Arrest for Several Crimes
On Februrary 6, at approximately 1:44 pm, officers responded to the area of N. Manley Rd. and Bogarin Ln. on a report of a suspicious person coming from the side yard of a nearby residence.
Upon contact with the subject, later identified as Omar Fierros (24 yrs of Merced), he was positively identified as the suspect leaving a backyard in which he did not have permission to be in. Fierros was placed under arrest.
A search of Fierros revealed miscellaneous items that were determined by officers to be stolen from the backyards of two residences in the area, and a car stereo that was reported stolen earlier in the day on N. Ripon Rd. Other items were located and an investigation into their legal owner is still underway.
Fierros was transported and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail for Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, Vehicle Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property, Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer, False Identification to a Police Officer, Trespassing, Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Petty Theft.
As a note, Fierros is believed to be associated with the suspicious person contact from yesterday morning at 4:14 am.
