Vehicle Registration Tags
Somebody taught me this trick a very long time ago (before I was a cop...). When you place your vehicle registration sticker on your license plate, take a razor blade and make several cuts across the sticker. When thieves see those cuts, they will deterred from stealing the stickers because they know it will come off in pieces.

Large SUV Theft of Rear Folding Seats
I was recently informed by one of residents that while in Bakersfield, thieves attempted to steal the rear seats of their Chevrolet Suburban. The thieves used a flattened tool to pop open the rear glass lift gate and attempted to steal the seats. The resident informed me that she was advised that a large number of these types of thefts are taking place. She purchased a locking device that secures the rear seats to prevent this theft. The device came with a sticker you place on the rear window, advising thieves that the locking device is in place. She stated she purchased the locking device from her dealership. Additionally, because of the way the rear window was popped, a blocking device should be placed on the latch.
