Evansville Police arrested two people on drug charges after police found over 1 pound of marijuana and cash in their west side apartment.
The investigation began when an officer saw KHIRY WADDELL, conduct a hand to hand drug deal outside of his Mary St apartment. An officer stopped WADDELL and asked him if he lived in the complex and he yes as he walked away. WADDELL then entered apartment #6.
The officer walked by the apartment and could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the apartment. During a knock and talk with the female resident, the officer could smell the odor of raw marijuana.
The female, BIANKA WASHINGTON, and WADDELL both denied the presence of drugs in the apartment and both refused consent to search. Police applied for a search warrant and the request was granted.
During a search of the apartment, police found a bag that contained 519 grams of marijuana and $3,338 in cash.
WADDELL was arrested on July 27, 2017 and November 21, 2017 for dealing marijuana. He is now facing his third dealing marijuana charge. He is also charged with dealing marijuana with a prior conviction and maintaining a common nuisance. All of his charges are felonies.
