Good Thursday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Wednesday, 2/14/18.

-700 blk Avenue T, Levelland: Burglary of Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a reported vehicle burglary. Information was taken for a report and the incident is under investigation.

-FM 2646 at E. Ellis, Levelland: Traffic Control. Deputies assisted in moving cattle across the roadway from one field to another by providing traffic control.

-FM 303 at Sundown city limit: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to the area related to a multi-vehicle crash. Deputies assisted on scene until the roadways were clear.

-Hwy 114 near FM 168, Smyer: Medical Issue. A deputy was dispatched to locate and assist an individual with a reported medical issue. EMS also responded and one individual was transported for evaluation.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Civil Issue. A deputy met with a complainant regarding a civil complaint involving an eviction. Civil remedies were advised and the complainant was directed to the appropriate court for documents and filing.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Forgery. A deputy completed a report related to several forgery offenses involving a local business. Evidence was turned over to investigators and the matter is under investigation.

-FM 597 at Concho Rd, Anton: Fire. Deputies responded to assist with a grass fire along FM 597. Multiple fire departments responded to extinguish the fire. Deputies assisted with traffic control as needed.

-Hwy 385 at E. Ellis, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies assisted with a reported vehicle crash at the intersection.

-FM 1294 at County Rd, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to locate loose livestock in the area. Livestock were secured.

-Hwy 114 at Cochran County line: Assist Cochran County SO. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a vehicle traveling eastbound on Hwy 114 containing occupants that were reportedly involved in an assault. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, civil process service, and traffic enforcement.

Jail population as of 2/15/18 at 0800 hours: 45 in Hockley County, 3 to be processed, 6 out of county.
