INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision

LOCATION: Village Drive and Puesta Del Sol Drive, Victorville

SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at approximately 4:13 pm, Deputies from the Victorville Police Department and rescue personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a two vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of Village Drive and Puesta Del Sol Drive. Deputies determined that a Blue Toyota Corolla was traveling west on Puesta Del Sol Drive, and upon entering the intersection, the Toyota was broadsided by a Dodge pickup truck traveling north on Village Drive.

The driver of the Toyota was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. His name is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin. The adult passenger in the Toyota was also transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries. The three juvenile passengers in the Toyota were airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver of the Dodge truck was treated by paramedics and released at the scene.

Investigators with the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) are continuing the investigation into the cause of the collision. Village Drive was closed in the area of Eto Camino and Blu Canyon during the investigation and was reopened at approximately 10:15 PM.
