Advisory

City personnel continue to monitor weather conditions as we move into the evening and overnight hours.

Cushing - As rain has continued to fall, ice has started accumulating on power lines and tree limbs. While we have not experienced any power outages, we are aware that this could become an issue if precipitation continues to fall and temperatures do not rise above freezing. In the event Cushing begins to experience power outages that may extend for longer than expected periods of time, the Cushing Youth and Community Center, 800 S. Little Avenue, will serve as a warming center and emergency shelter. Cushing Emergency Management will staff the shelter and receive residents if the need arises. Citizens are encouraged to check on their elderly neighbors and those who may be succeptible to cold temperatures if power is lost. Anyone who may experience a power outage may call (918) 225-1212 to report the outage if after normal business hours. The City will share more information if conditions warrant or other relevant information becomes available.
