Incident Summary:
On February 21, 2018, at approximately 12:05 AM, Petaluma Police Department located a Ford F150 truck that was reported stolen traveling northbound on Highway 101. Petaluma Police Officers conducted a “High Risk Traffic Stop” on the stolen vehicle and arrested the driver/sole occupant Manuel Garcia. During a search of the vehicle a loaded Sig Sauer P220 handgun was found tucked between the driver`s seat and center passenger seat. The pistol was easily accessible to the driver, while still being concealed from view.
Due to Garcia being prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition; he was additionally charged with 29800(a) PC - Felon in Possession of Firearm, 30305(a) PC - Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and 25850(c) PC - Felon in Possession of Loaded Firearm in a Vehicle. Garcia was transported and booked into custody at the Sonoma County jail.
