Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for Tuesday, 2/20/18.
Good Wednesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Tuesday, 2/20/18.
-6800 blk Filly Rd, Smyer: Theft. A deputy met with a complainant regarding a theft report. A rotary phase converter was reported stolen from the property. The incident is under investigation.
-Hwy 84 near FM 2130, Anton: Fire. A deputy responded to assist with traffic control after a vehicle caught fire along the highway. Fire crews responded to extinguish the fire. Deputies were on scene until the roadway was cleared.
-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Scam Call. A deputy made contact with a complainant regarding a possible scam call that was received. The information was collected and documented. Advice was provided about filing a report should any fraud or identity theft occur.
-2400 blk FM 3261, Levelland: Illegal Dumping. A deputy responded to a complaint of illegal dumping in the area. The information was documented and no report was requested.
-6800 blk Hwy 114, Smyer: Burglary. A deputy was dispatched to a residence related to a burglary report. A game console and several games were reported stolen. The matter is being investigated at this time.
Deputies also completed close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.
Jail population as of 2/21/18 a 0900 hours: 46 in Hockley County, 1 to be processed, 6 out of county.
