Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for Thursday, 2/22/18.
Good Friday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Thursday, 2/22/18.
-100 blk South Plains, Ropesville: Theft. A deputy responded to a reported theft of property at a residence in the area. Information was collected for a report and the matter is under investigation.
-Alamo Rd at East Ellis, Levelland: Threat. Deputies responded to assist with a bomb threat at Levelland Middle School. The school was evacuated by school personnel and after the investigation classes resumed for the day.
-100 blk Badger, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. A deputy responded to assist with a vehicle crash in the area. A vehicle struck a gas line in the area.
-1700 blk Pheasant Rd, Smyer: Fire. A deputy was notified of a structure fire near a residence in the area. Fire departments responded and extinguished the fire. One shed was destroyed on the property.
-4th St at Grant St, Smyer: Vehicle Crash. A deputy responded to a reported vehicle crash in the area. A trooper arrived and conducted the crash investigation.
-Hwy 385 at Grubstake Rd, Levelland: Alarm. Deputies responded to an alarm at a pump in the area. No issues were found at the site or in the area.
-800 blk Avenue H, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy responded to assist with an arrest in the area. One individual was later transported to the jail.
Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.
Jail population as of 2/23/18 at 1200 hours: 49 in Hockley County, 3 to be processed, 6 out of county.
